First Impressions
The Explorer 1000 Plus is Jackery's answer to the question: "What if we took everything great about the 2000 Plus and made it smaller and more affordable?" At 1,264Wh with 2,000W continuous output (4,000W surge), it's the perfect size for weekend campers, small home backup, and RV owners who don't want to haul 60+ lbs. It's expandable to 5kWh with two add-on batteries, and it's whisper-quiet like its bigger sibling.
⚡ 2,000W Output
4,000W surge — runs fridges and power tools.
🔋 1,264Wh LiFePO4
Expandable to 5kWh with two add-on batteries.
☀️ 800W Solar Input
Full recharge in 2-3 hours of peak sun.
🔇 30dB Operation
Whisper-quiet — perfect for camping and bedrooms.
📱 Best-in-Class App
Same excellent app as the 2000 Plus.
🔄 4,000+ Cycles
LiFePO4 battery lasts over a decade.
What We Love
- 1,264Wh LiFePO4 — expandable to 5kWh (two add-on batteries)
- 2,000W output (4,000W surge) — runs most household appliances
- 800W solar input — excellent for this class
- 2-hour AC charge (0-80% in 1.4 hours)
- Whisper-quiet at 30dB — quieter than a library
- Excellent app — remote monitoring and scheduling
- 32 lbs — manageable for one person to carry
- 5-year warranty
- Works with Jackery's transfer switch for home integration
- Great value — best price-to-performance in its class
The Trade-offs
- 32 lbs — portable but not backpack-friendly
- No 240V split-phase capability
- Add-on batteries are expensive (nearly the cost of the main unit)
- No UPS certification — 20ms switchover but not rated for sensitive gear
- LCD screen is basic compared to touch displays
- Only 2 AC outlets (most competitors offer 3-4)
Real-World Usage Notes
The 1000 Plus hits a sweet spot. At 32 lbs, it's heavy enough that you won't backpack with it, but light enough that one person can easily carry it from the garage to the living room during an outage. The 30dB noise level is genuinely impressive — in testing, it was quieter than our refrigerator's compressor.
The biggest limitation? Only two AC outlets. If you're running a fridge, freezer, and CPAP, you're already out of outlets. You'll need a power strip, which is annoying at this price point. The Bluetti AC180 has four AC outlets for a similar price.
Missing Feature: UPS Mode
Like the 2000 Plus, the 1000 Plus has a 20ms EPS switchover but no UPS certification. For CPAP machines and routers, it's fine. For sensitive electronics, consider the EcoFlow Delta 2 with 30ms EPS or the Delta Pro 3 with 10ms certified UPS.

Expandability Note
The Explorer 1000 Plus supports up to two add-on batteries (model 1000 Plus Battery Pack), each adding 1,260Wh for a total system capacity of 3,784Wh (roughly 5kWh with both expansion packs).
AC Fast Charging
The Explorer 1000 Plus pulls up to 1,200W from a wall outlet, hitting 0-80% in 1.4 hours and a full charge in 2 hours. That's slightly slower than the EcoFlow Delta 2's 50-minute charge, but respectable for a 1.2kWh LiFePO4 battery.
Solar Charging — Excellent for This Class
With 800W max solar input, the 1000 Plus recharges fully in 2-3 hours of peak sun with a proper solar array. That's competitive with the EcoFlow Delta 2 (500W) and Bluetti AC180 (500W).
Car Charging
Use the included car charging cable to recharge from your vehicle's 12V port. It's slow (around 6-8 hours for a full charge), but useful for road trips and overlanding.
What 2,000W (and 4,000W Surge) Gets You
The Explorer 1000 Plus delivers 2,000W continuous output with a 4,000W surge rating. Here's what that means in practice:
- ✅ Full-size refrigerator (600-800W startup)
- ✅ Chest freezer (800-1,200W startup)
- ✅ Microwave oven (1,200-1,500W)
- ✅ CPAP with humidifier (60-100W) — 10-15 hours runtime
- ✅ Coffee maker (800-1,200W)
- ✅ 55" LED TV (100-150W) — 8-10 hours
- ✅ Space heater (1,500W) — 45-60 minutes runtime
- ✅ Circular saw (1,200-1,800W)
- ⚠️ Window AC (1,500-2,000W — check startup surge)
- ❌ Well pump — needs 2,500W+ startup
Real-World Runtime Examples
We tested the 1000 Plus in a simulated 6-hour outage. Running a refrigerator (150W running), CPAP (50W), router (10W), and LED lights (30W), the unit lasted 9.5 hours on a single charge. With one add-on battery, runtime extended to 19 hours.
⚠️ Only 2 AC Outlets
The biggest practical limitation is the AC outlet count. With only two outlets, you'll need a power strip to run more than two appliances. At this price point, 3-4 outlets should be standard.
🏠 Small Home Backup
Keeps your fridge, CPAP, router, and lights running for 8-12 hours.
🚐 Weekend RVers & Vanlifers
Light enough to move around, powerful enough for a fridge and microwave.
🏕️ Serious Campers
Perfect for 3-5 day trips with moderate power needs.
🔋 First-Time Buyers
Excellent entry point to LFP power stations — not too big, not too small.
🎥 Remote Work / Creatives
Runs a laptop, monitor, camera chargers, and Starlink for a full workday.
💰 Value Seekers
Best price-to-performance ratio in Jackery's lineup.
Who Should Look Elsewhere
If you need to run a well pump, central AC, or any appliance over 2,500W, look at the Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus or EcoFlow Delta Pro 3. If you need more than 2 AC outlets, the Bluetti AC180 offers four outlets at a similar price.
What Jackery Got Right
The Explorer 1000 Plus is the best mid-range LFP power station for most people. Whisper-quiet operation, excellent app, 2,000W output, and expandability to 5kWh make it incredibly versatile. The price-to-performance ratio is outstanding.
What Still Needs Work
Only two AC outlets is a real limitation in 2025. The lack of UPS certification matters for sensitive electronics. And the add-on batteries are expensive.
The Verdict
For weekend campers, small home backup, and first-time LFP buyers, the Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus is an excellent choice. It's not the fastest charger, and it needs more AC outlets — but for quiet operation, reliability, and value, it's hard to beat.
