Jackery: The Longevity & Simplicity Leader
Jackery invented the consumer solar generator in 2015. A decade later, they're still the standard for simplicity and customer support. The Explorer 1500 Ultra brings IP65 weatherproofing. The HomePower 3600 Plus brings whole-home backup with 6,000-cycle LFP. New for 2026: Solar Mars Bot and Solar Gazebo.
Jackery launched the world's first lithium portable power station in 2015 — the Explorer 240. Before that, "portable power" meant loud, fume-spewing gas generators. Jackery changed everything by making clean, silent, and truly portable energy accessible to normal people.
- 4,000–6,000 cycle LFP — a decade or more of daily use
- Simplest setup — 60-second solar plug-in, no app required
- Best-in-class customer support — US-based, 94% satisfaction
- IP65 on Explorer 1500 Ultra — dust, water, and drop resistant
- HomePower 3600 Plus — 21kWh expandable, 240V, 6,000 cycles
- 5-year extendable warranty
- Why LFP enables 4,000+ cycles →
- No battery self-heating — poor cold-weather charging below 0°C
- App is basic — no automation, scheduling, or energy dashboards
- Older NMC models still sold — look for "Plus," "Ultra," or "v2"
- No built-in 240V on Explorer series — requires two units
- 20–30ms UPS — borderline for sensitive CPAP machines
Jackery is still the simplicity and longevity standard. The Explorer 1500 Ultra's IP65 rating solves a real problem for outdoor and marine users. The HomePower 3600 Plus brings 6,000-cycle LFP and 240V to the home backup category. The remaining gaps — no battery heating and basic app — are the price you pay for unmatched simplicity.
UPS switchover time is how fast a power station takes over when grid power fails. Jackery Explorer series achieves 20–30ms — adequate for most electronics but the slowest among the Big 4. The HomePower 3600 Plus improves this to sub-10ms.
| Model | UPS Speed | Medical Grade? | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jackery HomePower 3600 Plus | sub-10ms ✅ | ✅ Yes | Best Jackery UPS — confirmed sub-10ms |
| Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus / 1500 Ultra | 20–30ms | ⚠️ Borderline | May reset sensitive CPAP machines |
| Bluetti Elite 300 | sub-10ms ✅ | ✅ Yes | Best Bluetti UPS |
| Anker C-series | sub-10ms ✅ | ✅ Yes | Best portable UPS overall |
| EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra | 0ms ✅ | ✅ Best | True Online UPS |
Jackery's LFP batteries are rated for 4,000+ cycles to 70% of original capacity on Explorer series, and 6,000 cycles on the HomePower 3600 Plus. Here's what that looks like in real life:
| Usage Frequency | Years to 70% (Explorer 4,000+) | Years to 70% (HomePower 6,000) |
|---|---|---|
| Daily use (1 cycle/day) | ~11 years | ~16 years |
| Weekly use | ~77 years | ~115 years |
| Weekend camping (50/year) | ~80 years | ~120 years |
| Emergency backup only | Virtually indefinite | Virtually indefinite |
Unveiled at CES 2026, the Solar Mars Bot is Jackery's most ambitious product yet. It's an AI-powered, self-driving robot with retractable solar panels that automatically tracks the sun throughout the day for maximum charging efficiency. It can follow you on the move — from campsite to jobsite. Think of it as a solar generator that comes to you, not the other way around. No setup, no panel positioning, just energy that follows where you go.
Also announced at CES 2026, the Solar Gazebo features a 2,000W solar roof that generates up to 10kWh of clean energy per day. It's designed to integrate seamlessly with Jackery's HomePower series for whole-home backup. With a 25-year warranty, it turns any backyard into a personal power plant — no rooftop installation required.
By 2026, Jackery has evolved from a portable generator company into a complete energy ecosystem. Their lineup now spans five pillars:
- Portable power — Explorer series (1000 Plus, 2000 Plus, 1500 Ultra)
- Home backup — HomePower 3600 Plus (6,000 cycles, 240V)
- Solar generation — SolarSaga panels + SolarSaga Barrel Tiles
- Autonomous energy — Solar Mars Bot (CES 2026)
- Home infrastructure — Solar Gazebo (CES 2026)
Every product is designed to work together seamlessly with no technical setup required — maintaining Jackery's core promise of dead-simple energy, now at any scale.
Unlike older NMC chemistry, LiFePO₄ offers superior thermal stability, longer cycle life, and safer operation. Jackery's thermal management — including the Explorer 1500 Ultra's titanium-alloy cooling structure — makes their LFP stations particularly well-suited to high-heat desert environments.
For cold-weather outdoor use, Jackery is not the strongest choice. EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 and Anker SOLIX F3800 have built-in cell heating that enables safe charging at -20°C. However, for indoor home backup in cold climates — where the station itself stays warm — this is a non-issue. The Explorer 1500 Ultra's IP65 rating means it can survive snow and rain; it just shouldn't be left outside trying to charge in freezing temperatures.
