The original Explorer 1000 was Jackery's most-loved station for years — approachable, reliable, well-built. Its one problem was the NCM battery: 500 cycles and it was done. The v2 replaces that with LiFePO₄ — 4,000 cycles. That's an 8× improvement in lifespan. ⚠️ Jackery Solar Panels Only
The 1000 v2 uses a proprietary solar connector. It only works with Jackery SolarSaga panels — not third-party panels. Factor this into your solar setup if you're building an off-grid system.
AC Fast Charging — 1 Hour
In fast charge mode, the Explorer 1000 v2 goes from 0-100% in 1 hour flat. That's faster than the EcoFlow Delta 2 (80 minutes) and dramatically faster than the original Explorer 1000 (5+ hours). Plug in at lunch and it's fully charged before you're back at your desk.
Default Mode — 1.7 Hours (Better for Battery)
Jackery's default charging mode takes 1.7 hours and is easier on the LFP cells long-term. The app lets you switch between modes. For most users the default is the right call — you're still going from dead to full in under 2 hours, which beats most competitors at this capacity.
Solar Charging — 400W, Jackery Panels Only
The 400W solar input is adequate but not class-leading. With two SolarSaga 200W panels, expect a full recharge in 3-4 hours of peak sun. The proprietary connector is the bigger issue — you're locked into Jackery's solar ecosystem. If you already own third-party panels, this isn't the right station.
💡 Which Charge Mode Should You Use?
Use 1.7-hour mode for daily home use and regular camping — it's gentler on the battery. Use 1-hour fast mode when you're in a hurry and need a full charge before heading out. Both are toggled in the Jackery app.

Both are excellent 1kWh LFP stations. The Delta 2 charges faster (50 min vs 1 hr), has higher output (1,800W vs 1,500W), and works with any solar panel. The 1000 v2 has better build quality feel, a better app (per most users), is slightly lighter, and Jackery's customer service reputation is excellent. If you're already in the Jackery solar ecosystem, the 1000 v2 wins. If you're starting fresh, the Delta 2 has a small edge on specs.

The 1000 v2 is the station the original Explorer 1000 always should have been.
