What Is the Bluetti EB3A?
The EB3A is Bluetti's ultra-portable power station, packing 268Wh of LiFePO₄ battery capacity into a 10.1 lb package. Its 600W pure sine wave inverter (1,200W surge) can power mini-fridges, CPAP machines, laptops, drones, and small power tools. But what sets it apart is the built-in UPS mode — a <20ms switchover time that keeps your computer or networking gear running during outages.
What We Love
- 600W output — class-leading for this size
- True UPS mode with <20ms switchover
- 350W solar input — recharges in 2-3 hours
- 2,500+ cycle LiFePO₄ battery (8-10 year lifespan)
- Excellent Bluetooth app with real-time monitoring
- USB-C with 100W Power Delivery
- Quiet operation under 200W load
The Trade-offs
- Fan can be noticeable above 300W (45dB)
- Only 2 AC outlets
- Heavier than EcoFlow River 3 (10.1 lbs vs 7.9)
- Limited to 268Wh — not for extended outages
The EB3A is ideal for: home office UPS, CPAP users needing battery backup, weekend camping, drone/photography charging, and anyone who wants the most feature-rich small power station on the market.
Who Should Buy This
If you work from home and need your router, modem, and computer to stay online during short outages — or if you want a single device for both camping and emergency backup — the EB3A is the best choice under $400.

What's in the Box
EB3A unit, AC charging cable (350W adapter), car charging cable, solar charging cable (MC4 to XT60), documentation, and 2-year warranty card.
AC Output Testing
The 600W inverter is remarkably capable for a unit this size. We ran a 500W mini-fridge for 3+ hours, a 400W gaming laptop setup for 5+ hours, and a 100W CPAP machine for over 15 hours. The 1,200W surge successfully started a small refrigerator compressor and a 700W microwave.
Charging Performance
Using the included 350W AC adapter, the EB3A reaches 0-80% in about 1 hour and a full charge in 1.8 hours. This is competitive with the EcoFlow River 3 (70 minutes full) and faster than the Jackery 300 Plus (2+ hours).
Run Time Estimates
Laptop (65W): 3-4 charges · CPAP (40W): 24+ hours · Mini-fridge (80W avg): 3-4 hours · Router/modem (15W): 15+ hours · Phone charging (18W): 12+ charges.
Solar Charging
The EB3A accepts up to 350W of solar input via MC4 connectors. Using a single 200W portable panel, we saw full recharge in about 3 hours under peak sun. The wide 12-28V range means compatibility with most 12V/24V solar panels on the market.
What Makes the EB3A Different
The EB3A's <20ms switchover time is fast enough to keep computers, routers, modems, and NAS drives running seamlessly during grid interruptions. In our testing, we simulated power failures by unplugging the EB3A while it was charging and running a desktop PC. The computer never blinked — no reboot, no network drop.
How to Use UPS Mode
Simply plug the EB3A into a wall outlet, then plug your sensitive devices into the EB3A's AC outlets. The unit will pass grid power through to your devices while maintaining the battery at 100%. When grid power fails, the EB3A switches to battery power faster than your devices can detect the interruption.
⚠️ Important Limitation
The EB3A's UPS mode only works for loads under 600W total. If you exceed this, the unit will shut down. For a home office (PC + monitor + router + modem), this is plenty. For a full server rack or multiple high-draw devices, you'll need a larger unit like the Anker SOLIX F3800.
Noise During UPS Mode
When running on grid pass-through, the EB3A is silent — no fan, no inverter hum. Only when the battery is charging or when running on battery power does the fan engage (and only above 200W load). This makes it an excellent choice for bedrooms or quiet office environments.
| Model | Capacity | Output | UPS Mode | Charge Time | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bluetti EB3A | 268Wh | 600W | ✓ <20ms | 1.8 hrs | 10.1 lbs |
| EcoFlow River 3 | 256Wh | 600W | ✗ (30ms+) | 1.2 hrs | 7.9 lbs |
| Jackery 300 Plus | 288Wh | 300W | ✗ | 2 hrs | 7.5 lbs |
| Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 | 1,056Wh | 1,800W | ✗ | 1.1 hrs | 27.6 lbs |
Our Take
The EB3A wins on UPS functionality and output power for its size. The EcoFlow River 3 is lighter and charges slightly faster but lacks true UPS mode. The Jackery 300 Plus is simpler and lighter but has half the output power. For home office users, the EB3A is the clear winner.
Who Should Buy This
The EB3A is perfect for remote workers, home office users, CPAP patients, and anyone who wants a single device for both camping and emergency backup. If UPS functionality matters to you, this is the best small power station available.
Who Should Look Elsewhere
If you need extended runtime for full-home backup, get the Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2 (2,048Wh) or the Anker SOLIX F3800. If weight is your primary constraint and you don't need UPS, the EcoFlow River 3 is 2 lbs lighter. If you don't need 600W output, the Jackery 300 Plus is simpler and cheaper.
The Verdict
The Bluetti EB3A earns its Highly Recommended status. No other small power station offers this combination of output power, UPS functionality, solar input, and app features. For home office protection and weekend adventures, it's the best all-around choice under $400.
